Spacial Experience Design (SpX)
Summer 2023 students chose between 2 different studio projects:
Soundspace
ArtCenter Berlin students tapped into Berlin’s deep connection to sound and experimental music to explore new hybrid destinations for the love of music. They designed branded experiences, for either existing brands or newly created brands that reflected their own passion for music, listening to it and experiencing it in the unique landscape of Berlin. Students explored how to connect the digital world of music downloading and listening - to the physical world of playing and sharing sounds and music in a tangible interactive place that breaks new experiential ground.
Soundspace Berlin is a new spatial experience that reflects how sound affects our day-to-day lifestyle, a place for fans and musicians to come together through a shared passion for making, playing and listening to music.
Gemütlichkeit
Gemütlichkeit is a uniquely German word used to convey a state of well-being, a feeling of inner peace, embracing an unhurried easy-going attitude, friendliness and conviviality, whether solo or in the company of friends. As covid subsides, how do we engage with the world in safe and healthy ways where we once again crave connections. Students researched and chose their own individual projects, exploring the rich diversity of populations and cultures in Berlin to interpret Gemütlichkeit.
